Hi, my name is Mitch Caudill.
Unlike most other people here, I wasn’t raised enjoying life in the outdoors at a young age. I got a late start, with my first camping trip being around 5 years ago. Since then, I have been spending as much time as possible making up for all those lost years. Anytime you don’t find me working at Roads Rivers and Trails on the weekends, you will likely find me on the trail with my dog, paddling a new river, or spending a night sleeping in a hammock somewhere in the woods. With as much time as I spend outside, I’ve taken an interest in building new gear that fits my specific needs. Whether it be hammocks, specialized rainflys, or even a pack, I enjoy finding creative solutions for unique requirements.
What trips are you currently day dreaming about?
I am currently dreaming of getting dropped off via float plane and paddling the Keele River in Canada’s Northwest Territories.
Is there a trip that you are planning to do next?
My next trip will be to hike the AT along the Roan Highlands in Tennessee and North Carolina over the winter.
What was the last trip you took?
My last trip was a 104 mile solo canoe trip (with my dog) on the Huron River Water Trail in Michigan.
